Happy fall ya'll!!!
Brothers and Sisters, it is yet another Monday. Time is going by faster then I'd like. Its crazy to think that in a few weeks, I'll hit my 10th month mark. However, I am so excited that it is General Conference weekend! I cannot wait to hear the words of the living Prophet and his Apostles! General Conference truly is a blessing that Heavenly Father has given us. Last week, I was wondering how I could best prepare for General Conference. I knelt down and I asked Heavenly Father about a question I could ask in preparation for General Conference. As I was praying a question came to my mind, "How can I better understand the power of the Book of Mormon?" I am so grateful that Heavenly Father gave me this question. To answer this question I made a goal to read as much of the Book of Mormon as I can before General Conference. Note that I did not make it a goal to finish the Book of Mormon. I know that this experience was inspired by Heavenly Father and I know that if you earnestly seek for a way to prepare for General Conference, Heavenly Father will help you.
Last week was amazing, we had 1 come to sacrament meeting, 3 on date for baptism and we found 5 new investigators. We have been working really hard to accomplish our goals and I know that it was Heavenly Fathers will for us to exceed them. I will tell you about the new investigators we found;
Louis is a sweet old lady, her husband has cancer so she is going kind of down hill right now. She has such a strong belief in Jesus Christ and she knows that he will help her with anything and everything.
Sister Bridges is a younger mom with two little kids. She was a referral from a member in our ward and she is Christian.
Edward Joseph Smith Jr. He is cool. We found him while we where street contacting and he is a super happy go lucky kind of person. He came across as a little creepy though because he was so happy (lol) so we are just going to bring members with us every time. He likes that he has the same name as the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Limont (I don't know how to spell his name) He is Edwards friend that showed up later in the lesson. He said that he wanted to learn more and that he likes the idea of the Book of Mormon.
Kimberly is a young mom as well. She talked a lot about families so we taught her the Plan of Salvation. She said that she wants to go to church so how cool is that?
This week was Sister Adams' 20th Birthday!!! She is my best good friend. I couldn't afford to by her a birthday present so I made her eggs in the shape of a 2 but it was a struggle because there where not enough eggs to make a 0 so I guess that she is just 2 lol.
A recent convert asked me if I play video games and I was like, "Heck yes." So we talked about video games and she was like, "Do you miss playing video games?" I said, "No because I like being a missionary better." She was like, "That's good because you are good at it." She has my whole heart.
Shout out to Chip for blessing the Sacrament! I am sad that I missed it but I know he did a great job. I love you Chippers!
I am so grateful for everyone's prayers and support. I am so blessed to have such great family and friends. I hope y'all have a great week!
Love always,
Sister Rodabough
