Crazy lessons and new adventures!

Weeeeeeeell hello folks. How are y'all doing? I hope that all y'all are safe and sound from all of the crazy floods and stuff like that. For a while there I was really worried about Elder Rodabough and Sister Gifford and Sister Webb but they are all okay so we are surely blessed.

This week was...interesting. To start off I would like to tell y'all about Pam. Pam is the lady we found a few weeks ago. We went to teach her the Plan of Salvation on Wednesday last week and with EVERYTHING she said it was against what we had to say. She was like, "How dare you think that the Book of Mormon is more important then the Bible." and we would say, "We know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are equal partners in proclaiming the word of God." And then she would go off on her tangents again. The Spirit was super not there so finally Sister Van Tassel told her what our purpose is and we said a prayer with her and left. We ended on a good note though but she just was not willing to listen. And we had to leave because the Spirit wasn't there at all so that was crazy. We where both pretty shaken up after but we just pressed forward with the work.

On Friday we contacted one of our referrals from Church Headquarters. Her name is Sister Shockley and she is so cool! It was funny because you'd think that people out here wouldn't bash us about the Bible right? But Sister Van Tassell told Sister Shockley that the Bible was written in ancient Jerusalem and she was like, "No it was not it was written in Hebrew." Lol it was so funny I tried so hard to not laugh. Good times, good times.

Saturday was by far the most interesting day. We where tracting and we met Bill. Bill said that Him and God parted a long time ago and that he hasn't looked back. He also said that he wouldn't let us 'convert' him but that he would give us free fresh grapes from his vineyard! Those grapes are the best thing ever. They where so good holy cow. It was weird though because they had seeds in them. After he gave us grapes he have us free bird houses that he made! He was so nice to us. Who else would give us free bird houses? No one probably lol.

On Monday we went to see a Less Active man named Brother Lewis. He is an older man but he is so sweet. We couldn't go inside his house but I still wanted to share something with him. I shared 2 Nephi 31:19-20. And after he said, "Thank you for sharing those with me. You have made me a stronger man." My heart just melted when he said that. He is so sweet.

We found out that I will be getting a new companion! I am so excited! Her name is Sister Adams and I can't wait to meet her tomorrow! I am so excited for this new adventure. I love getting new companions because it gives me an opportunity to start fresh.

I hope that y'all know how much I love y'all. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and please continue to pray for those in Texas. I hope you have a great week!

Love,
Sister Rodabough
