What's up family and friends?

Well folks, my Fourth was pretty much the best. We started off with a HUGE ward breakfast that was so good. We had dear, pork, chicken, beef, hamburger, pancakes (duh;), fruit, monkey bread, chocolate milk, orange juice and tons of other food. And no I did not nor could not eat that much food haha. After that we went to Walmart and got some shorts and we did service at the Morgans! That family is so darn fun to be with holy cow. We had a super dope firework show after. On Tuesday we went back to finish our service with the Morgans, then we went to this cool place in Dublin where you can go sightseeing and you can play basketball, baseball and lots of other cool things. The rest of the week we just did normal missionary things.

I am SO EXCITED FOR TOMORROW Y'ALL HAVE NO STINKEN IDEA!!! We get to meet our new Mission President! I have been waiting a whole week for this moment ladies and gentlemen...that's right. A whole week! I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me to be able to serve with two mission presidents.

I am also excited about my friends McKenna and Kelsee who will be leaving on there missions soon! But lets not forget Dallas and Dylan and Jake and Dylan (on the other side of the family) and all of my other cool cousins! I am so proud of all of you, this will be one of the best decisions you make in your life.So make sure you live it up on your mission, become your best self and focus everything on our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I it is so crazy to thing that I hit my 6 month mark on the 18th, then I hit my half way mark on October 18 and then after that I turn 20! Oh wait that actually just means that I am an old human.

I love Virginia so very much. All we need here now is a billion temples and we'll call it good. I hope Heavenly Father will allow me to spend my whole mission here. My family is going to go completely crazy when I bring them up here. Especially McKay, he will LOVE Virginia I just know it. Chip will probably like it for a few minutes and be like, "Okay, yeah yeah that's cool, where is my computer?" Nah I'm just kidding haha. If any of you get the opportunity to go to Virginia, you better go or you will regret it!

Happy 4th Everyone! Plus a movie or two

Happy 4th y'all! 

This is one of my favorite times of year! We are so blessed to have this wonderful country that Heavenly Father has given us. Plus, who doesn't like fireworks? I have so many memories of going to rodeos, parades and family gatherings. Its a good time ladies and gentlemen!

The mission is just going by crazy fast. Holy cow I don't even know what to do with myself. We got our new mission President. I am so excited to be able to work with them! They are going to be so amazing!

We found a new investigator this week and it was a really cool experience. She loves the temple and she already believes that Joseph Smith is a modern day prophet! She was also very excited to get a Book of Mormon! I love to see that Heavenly Father truly does prepare His people. This work is so amazing and I am grateful for this time I have to serve my Heavenly Father!

I got the news that I have two new baby cousins! Although it makes me a little sad that I have to wait so long to meet them, I am grateful that they are apart of my wonderful family!


Wednesday was so much fun, we got to go to the Niels for our coordination meeting then for dinner Sister Niel made us legit orange chicken. I learned how to use chop sticks so that was a lot of fun. I also got to hang out with my best fiends! Their names are sister Lambert and Sister Chantry. I love them a lot haha.

So for tomorrow (fourth of July) we are having a HUGE breakfast. They are starting to cook at 6:30 and the breakfast doesn't even start till 9:00 so I'm hyped. After that we are going to the Morgans for dinner and before hopefully we will be able to see some fireworks!

The mission life is the best life

Hello dearest family and friends,
This week has been...interesting. My new area consists of Dublin and Pulaski Virginia. It is super pretty and the ward and people are amazing! My companions name is Sister Van Tassell, she is from Paul Idaho. She is super awesome and we like to play football and pick wild berries so its a good time.:)

Tuesday: We had our last zone conference with President and Sister Salisbury. We learned a lot about the Book of Mormon, being obedient and they gave us some post mission advice (which was awkward because they talked about marriage...) We are sad that they are leaving but we are also excited to get the new President!

Wednesday: We had dinner with the Niels today and it was fun because we accidentally showed up early so Sister Niel showed us how to make tacos! Before that we where tracking and we ran into (not literally) this lady who was 99 years old but she looked like she was at least 75. She was super nice to us and it was cool because she turns 100 in July!

Tuesday: Every Tuesday and Thursday we serve at a church that provides meals for homeless people. It is SO much fun and it makes my whole day when we are able to do service for others who are in need.

Sunday: During sacrament meeting I learned the following about agency: It is important that we do hard things because they make us stronger. What am I willing to give up to know God better? Scripture in Alma: 'I will give up all of my sins to know thee.' What you think about is what you get more of. If we do our part, the blessings will follow.
Relief Society-Obedience: Try harder to live the Gospel. The more you are obedient, the more the Spirit can work with you. We must rise above the crowd and stand a little taller!

Today I am really excited because we get to go explore a mansion house, which may or may not actually be a mansion haha. Either way it should be fun. I love being a missionary holy cow. It really is just the best thing.

Father's Day and New Apartments

Hello family and friends!

I hope y'all had an amazing Fathers Day! I love my dad a lot. He is my best friend and he is the best dad I could have asked for. Heavenly Father knew exactly what he was doing when he blessed me with such a wonderful man like him. We have had some awesome adventures together. He is the most hardworking man I have ever met. He is kind, funny, smart, caring, and Christlike. I am so honored that he is my dad.

This week has been so exciting. Our new apartment is super dope. However, elders used to live in it so we have to disinfect everything multiple times. The area is fantastic! I love my new companion. She is from Idaho and she is super legit. We have to sets of sister missionaries serving in the ward so it is fun to have more than just us haha.

It is super sad though on the other hand because President and Sister Salisbury are leaving very soon. I love them both with all my heart and makes me sad to see them go.

We had a wonderful stake conference on Fathers Day. I forgot my study journal like a dumbie head so I will get some notes for my email next week.

I am so excited to see all of my cousins and friends serving missions! Here is some things I wish I had done more of before I left:
Go to the temple as often as you can (whether you are a missionary or not)
Study the DOCTRINE
Read Preach My Gospel
Gain a rock solid testimony about the atonement of Jesus Christ
Read the WHOLE Book of Mormon no matter how many times you may have read it in the passed!
Spend time with your mom (legit, do it)

I hope that you future missionaries will apply these things in your life because they will help you in the mission.

Dublin VA

Transfers! She makes me so happy. She is still loving everything about the mission. I love her spunky sass attitude! Read on for inspiration: 

I am getting transferred to Dublin Virginia! I am so beyond excited to start my new adventure. I am also getting doubled in. Normally for transfers one companion leaves and the other one will stay in the area. But since I am being doubled in, that means that two missionaries will be new to the area and we'll have to learn everything about it by ourselves. I am so grateful that the Lord has trusted me with this opportunity to learn a new area. I leave tomorrow at 3:50 am. I can't wait!!!

Thursday: We had a Mission Wide Phone Call so that was super dope. My mission President mensioned my baptism that we had and I was freaking out because now everyone in the whole mission knows (no pressure). Haha people are like, "congrats sisters on your baptism" and I'm like, "no it was Heavenly Fathers baptism." Because its true. Getting baptisms is NOT what the mission is about.

Sunday: On Sunday we had a fireside (spiritual devotional at the church, no fire included). We planed it along with the Music of the Gospel Mormon message. That video is so amazing and I recommend that you watch it. It talks about how we might know the dance steps to the Gospel but we need to be able to hear the music. Hearing the music is like listening to the Spirit. We need to do things like going to church and praying and reading the scriptures so that we can have the Spirit with us more abundantly. It was an awesome fireside and I'm grateful that I got to be apart of it. :)

Sorry for the short letter today folks but I lost track of time with emailing my most wonderfullest mother. (which is more important anyways). But thank you for your continued prayers and support. It is much appreciated.

Adventure is out there and a lil movie too!

• This week has been full of little adventures that just make my heart so happy. Allow me to give you some examples: Tuesday: We had dinner with Sister Donato and she made us something called dumpling con coco. She makes the best Dominican Republic food ever. Wednesday: We served the Walkers by taking apart their kitchen because of black mold issues and I got to take apart a cabinet with a sledgehammer. And we listened to instrumental music. It was a great stress reliever haha. Thursday: We had dinner with the Sheltons and they made us gourmet Chinese food. We brought our investigator named Sister Rivera. After dinner we watched a video about the Plan of Salvation and she started crying so much! It was by far the most spiritual experience on my mission thus far. She said she feels like she finally understands what her purpose is. She is so cool:) Friday: I got to see the race car track! It is three miles long and the bleachers hold a ton of people! It was so huge. After that we went to a place called dippers that makes homemade ice cream. Saturday: Rockey's baptism! It was awesome, lemme tell ya. We talked to him after his baptism and he said he felt perfect. He forgot to take his pain medicine that morning but after he was baptized he no longer feels that pain! I know that Heavenly Father prepared Rockey to be baptized at this time and that because of the faith Rockey had, he was able to have an experience the produced miracles! Sunday: Rockey was confirmed a member of the church. We went to see sister Oliver, she is an old lady who is unable to walk. But when we went over there she said that she can walk again! She needs someone to help her but she can stand and move around! I love that Heavenly Father produces so many miracles all around us! I love everyone Sister Rodabough  MVI_0405.MOV

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

 Interesting Fact of the Day:

So brother Hodnett told us about a legit church called Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It is something about having a bucket of spaghetti tipped down on your head. There is only one member and she is also the President of the Church. So silly lol.

This week has been awesome! We found four new investigators, we have three people on date for baptism and we had three of our investigators come to sacrament meeting! I know that without the help of the Lord, these miracles would not have happened. :) One of our investigators name is Sister Pelsinger, we have been teaching her for about a month and she cannot wait to be baptized! She is also really excited to go to the temple and do work for her ancestors! Isn't she just so cool? We had a lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ last time and the Spirit was so strong. I know that everyone in that room was feeling the Spirit. Experiences like that make me truly grateful to be a missionary.

Also this one day we got a YSA (young single adult) we had to check on. The Zone Leaders gave us to an address that lead us to some Jehovah Witness' and although they did not want to hear our message they where still very nice to us! They told us to check out the trailer that was behind them a little ways. Of course we tried and this lady named Myrna opened the door. And I got a little scared cause she is Hispanic and I don't speak Spanish! However she speaks English very well, we began to ask her how her day has been, she said that it was hard and that she was praying because she didn't know what her purpose was. And we showed up 10 minutes later. We taught her the Restoration and the next lesson we taught the Plan of Salvation. She loves reading the Book of Mormon and asks really great questions about it! 

I saw lightning bugs for my first time this week so that was fun! I love cute little things like that in Virginia. 

Brother Lester, our blind investigator, passed his baptismal interview and will be baptized on Saturday.
